The Candelilla Institute

The Candelilla Institute is a nonprofit organization authorized by the Mexican government to accept donations. Its mission is to advance research, conservation, and the sustainable use of the candelilla plant and the ecosystems of the Chihuahua Desert, while promoting the well-being of local communities, environmental restoration, and the cultural and economic value of this iconic plant.

Candelilla Wax: Origin and Community

Alkento is the world leader in the production and export of Candelilla wax. With years of experience and the trust of numerous global brands, we have made sustainability a cornerstone of our strategy. To this end, we have a specialized team that ensures compliance with the strictest international standards for quality and sustainability.

We work directly with Candelilla-producing communities (Candelilleros) to improve the traceability and social impact of Candelilla wax.
